SYNTHESIS
It seems a natural occurrence when two conflicting concepts exist, a progression in finding a synthesis is to be expected - the technicality of mechanics (to compound it further) and the more abstract creative methods; the solid and the fluid. As part of an evolutionary process that exists in Tzonis' theory of design processes in the history of architecture the mechanics that is so crucial to the success of any form must co-exist with creativity that knows no bounds and have no particular systematic structure in its basic expression. As architecture is an expression and a direct reflection of humanity, we would also find this synthesis in our basic biological make up as we discover that methodical and mechanical functions in our very existence are altered only by our individuality and uniqueness. In this we would find a parallel analogy with his theory of Regionalism. To summarise, as humanity evolves, we discover that success and efficiency is only achieved through finding a synthesis and a balance in these two distinct concepts.
